The journal of the American Institute of Architects published its Top 50 Firms in Design list in November and we were delighted to see some familiar names being lauded for their work.
Lake|Flato Architects comes in at #13 on the list.
Lake|Flato designs institutional, commercial and residential projects, but all reflect the firm’s unique design philosophy:
“…architecture should be rooted in its particular place, responding in a meaningful way to the natural or built environment. Using local materials and partnering with the best local craftsmen, we sought to create buildings that were tactile and modern, environmentally responsible and authentic, artful and crafted.”
The firm’s Blue Lake Retreat, a lake home in Marble Falls, Texas, racked up awards for its long, narrow three-story structure with 180-degree lake views
The Watuaga Residence combines those principles with clean, high quality craftsmanship and making it a pleasure to build.
Overland Partners, #46 on the list.
Founded in San Antonio, this firm designs projects in Texas and across the United States and China, Latin America and the Middle East. Overland Partners‘ design principles can be seen in projects ranging from Fortune 500 headquarters and art museums to visitors centers, homeless shelters to luxury private homes, universities to urban planning.
Sebastian Construction Group was fortunate to be able to bring an Overland Partners design to life with our University Park project, below:
